HOW LOST ARE YOU?

When I was a young man and filled with pride and self-sufficiency, people would tell me I was lost. My anger would build up inside me and I would go off like a rocket. I had all my faculties plus military survival training and I knew very well I wasn’t lost.
They continued to tell me that without Jesus as your Lord and Savior you are LOST. After I came back from Viet-Nam, life’s circumstances became very bad and I didn’t want to live anymore. At that point was when I received Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life. I fully believed He came into my heart and I was saved. However, my life was the same. I did the same things, acted the same way, thought the same thoughts and got the same results. {Does this sound like you}?
 Needless to say I was very disappointed in my conversion. I wasn’t to impressed with the power of God to change my life. When I read the Bible I made the mistake of starting at Genesis instead of the Gospels. Finally I read a scripture in Romans 12:2 that opened my eyes to a valuable key to my growth in God’s Word. “Be not conformed to this world but, be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

How do you do this successfully? The answer is DISCIPLESHIP!

This is where I discovered the true Love of God and the power of His LIVING Word to transform my life right where I was at.

God is very real and He shows up when we do. You must want to change with every fiber in you and He promises He will hold nothing back. My mind changed, my thinking changed, my thoughts changed and so did my results. I trusted God to remove my pride because His Word says that He can’t work in a man that’s full of pride. 

I wanted God to do a work in me and He did. I couldn’t remove my own pride and neither can you so don’t be afraid to ask. I wanted to be mentored by God’s people so I went to every men’s retreat I could. I went to Promise Keepers, Bible studies, I earned an Assoc. degree in Bible Theology. I was like a dry sponge soaking up Living waters.

If your serious about your salvation and serving God, don’t play games with your life. God promises that if we draw neigh unto Him, He will draw neigh unto us. We all can use some mentoring.
